Endless Eight for hipsters.

premise which relies on repetition, unsurprisingly, gets repetitious

The episodes did not really tread over much common ground beyond a "Rose Colored College Life". I have found much more repetitive series with much less repetitive concepts. On a whole I did not find it repetitive, especially the last few episodes.

okay

the last couple of episodes were entirely about breaking the repetition, so that's unsurprising. the ones prior to those had a similar structure: find activity, something happens to make mc disdain activity, regret it everything, end.
good to hear you enjoyed it though, i did too.

The set-up is similar but the actual events of each episode are pretty much entirely different.

im not denying that, i still found it repetitive when character growth and general narrative was reset episode after episode.
I'd have made it with less espisodes, specially with the love triangle ones. It's still one of my favorite series, though.
Space Dandy did it better.
