I like it mainly because of nostalgia goggles. The first series I completely bought every vhs tape for. As >>142460343 says, it has some really good visual design. But what >>142465889 said is one of its biggest flaws. Would have worked better as a 6 episode OVA, with higher budget per episode and less filler. I never watched the movie adaptation

But, yeah, like everyone else said; it was great, but it suffered from poor pacing.
