l actually agree
l love a lot of characters like ban, diane, king, escanor etc but the hero and heroine are incredibly shit and that's why l could never really get into the manga

There's no real tension in most of their fights. Luffy is basically Goku with his signature personality traits turned up to 11 but without the charisma. I don't find his or Meliodas' antics funny. I can't really blame either mangaka though since I understand that they're created so that kids would think that they're cool but I've seen so many other Shonen series with likeable protagonists I can't really give Luffy or Mel a pass. Also Elizabeth is probably the worst example of the ingenue princess in distress. I usually don't have a problem with this archetype but she's so incredibly bland that I can't find her entertaining on any level. Also the series makes a big deal about how sexy she's supposed to be but her character design doesn't do her justice kind of like all of Oda's women. Lastly her romance with Mel isn't cute it's kind of creepy and dull since their chemistry is shit. I appreciate that she isn't another shitty tsundere character but she feels absolutely spineless. At least that's just my opinion.
