The game is legitimately the best tcg I've ever played. If there was any player base at all in the whole ofsouthern ontario, I'd drop every other tcg. Mtg, as a game, just feels like a trainwreck in comparison (which makes yugioh a Michael Bay movie, I suppose).

I've never had problems playing Saturn, but given the last couple games I've played, she eats a defensive art and gets removed anyway, so Mercury could well be better. As for Venus, I'm somewhat partial to Neptune, but the art for Venus is one of the nicest pieces of Wixoss art out there, so I fully support multiples.

It's pretty drastically different, especially in how resources are managed (your 'mana' is one use only and is used for less things, card advantage is much, much less difficult to maintain), but it's still a tcg, so moving from one to the other isn't bad at all.
The rule set is just so vastly better designed. Magic in comparison has combat that is overly predisposed to board stalls and glacial card flow due to drawing less than one card per turn, (accounting for unneeded lands).

I'd certainly give it a chance. But I wouldn't feel all that bad about dropping it if it turns out poorly. That being said, I think the staff, from music, to direction, to writing, to backgrounds, were the combination that made Wixoss work. I think missing even one of them is going to drastically change the atmosphere of the series. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I'm kind of hoping for something that feels on a similar wavelength to what we have so far.
