Fushimi's side seems to be the one that takes place in Academy City. Kirino basically has to MC this show with Mikoto. On their way there they meet Kuroko/Mikoto/Touma etc. The show ends up being an interview with Mikoto and Kirino giving Mikoto life counseling. It ends with there being some incident and Mikoto leaving the show in Kirino hands.

Kyousuke showed that he can live without one but can't live without the other. It's a pretty big difference. In other words, one option was a "need" for his existence and happiness and the other one would be nice to have ("want").

Ayase, Kanako, Manami, and Sakurai were confessions that just happened. They weren't something he could control and were mostly forced/brought out thanks to Kuroneko/Manami. He burned those bridges as soon as they appeared viable in front of him.
The only one that he actually went out of his way to reject was Kuroneko. The bridge there was alive and well and he knew it. They never ended their relationship due in part to his hesitation and her running away every time he tried to bring it up.
It honestly goes back to Kanako's involvement. I think she's the only one that outright feels rushed. The fact that she shares her chapters with Ayase also doesn't help.

It's not her fault entirely that it wasn't a clean split. Kyousuke chose Kirino over Kuroneko. I think they all knew that. So Kyousuke no longer dated Kuroneko. But that's as far as they got.
Kuroneko ran away from hearing that Kirino was picked over her. And Kyousuke didn't do all that much to make the split clear. It's not until 1.5 volumes later that Kyousuke gets the chance to tell her to fuck off but only ends up postponing that rejection.
