She as her moments here and there specially at the end. S2 as a few meh episodes but the overall result is still better than S1. I think the group dynamic of the original 4 improved a lot in S2 and the movie is arguable the best part of the franchise so you should check out that too.

I just watched the ED and is not really a big deal is just their shoulders. Besides even Haruhi had a lot of fanservice. And so far I know K-on doest have any boob grab or pantyshots. In fact read somewhere that the original K-on manga is way more lewd and Kyoani toned down the fancervice and Yuri in the show.

The key word there being "recently". That's the point OP was trying to make: that KyoAni has started revving up the fanservice compared to historical norms. It's the same thing as the brouhaha that started when Pokemon started depicting a serious romantic relationship over the course of this season. It's not unusual for anime as a media type, it's just a new thing for those particular shows and their respective studios.

I am halfway through season 2 and since I was having a good time I decide to check the source material and holy shit why does the author bother to do fan service when he cant draw? There's a few decent moments in the manga, but overall, it's kind of bland. The introduction is pretty droll too.
Kyoani really takes the time to add some humanity into the series, while the manga doesn't even bother. There's a big lack of screentime for Tsumugi, because ultimately, she's a plot device, but the anime does her some favors.
The manga continuations are fucking trash. Even for 4koma, they're terrible. They got cancelled early for a reason. I didn't think someone would show that they can't be assed to put effort into a 4koma, but there you have it.
