It didn't really take me that long to hit 500, but well before that point my interests really broadened. I don't find as many "masterpieces" but I still find a lot of really enjoyable stories, and some old stories told in new ways.

If you don't track it religiously but have some some rough estimates and know it's in the hundreds, that's fine too. Personally I don't find it helpful to keep an exhaustive list of what you've seen, what episode status you're on, how you rate it etc.
I mean for prime example your perception of shows and how you want to rate them can shift over time for some series, sometimes taking years before you decide you actually overrated some things and underrated others etc.

There's some truth to this. After a few hundred shows it all pretty much becomes the same shit, so people tend to either slow down considerably, just have extremely shit taste, or have an obsession with one particular type of show because of autismo.

Well I wont try to say it's a masterpiece, but its endearing. I marathoned all the series over 2 weeks and was thoroughly enjoyed. Especially by the plot twists. All the OP's and ED's are enjoyable.
My personal favorite is 3 OP 2, but it has major plot spoilers.
If you don't mind a major spoiler. That becomes the whole end plot.MC becomes the main villain and is actively fighting Shana despite them both loving each other.

262 completed, but a lot of it is bloat from watching short OVAs. So let's just look at the TV anime, 133, and maybe add 10 for the OVAs with any real length like Lodoss War and Bubblegum Crisis, bringing the total of series with multiple episodes up to around 140.
I prefer to look at time spent instead, because that's more accurate. Stuff like Call Me Tonight, California Crisis, Riding Bean and Mars of Destriction are so small effort they shouldn't really count.
On the other hand, it does exclude some movies, whose length add up pretty fast.
