Maruyama feels like he's still evolving as an author at this point. I think he's probably got plenty of ideas but his stories don't feel like they need an ending right now.
I figure Kodansha is SAYING 18 because of the sales but that really depends on how each volume pans out, and with other shit getting volumes for far, far less sales I don't see this dying as a cash cow.
