It's the easiest, low-effort way of making a character "unique". Basically they couldn't think of anything to do so they just gave her that distinguishing feature. Also since it's their LN, based on their previous adaptations and the content of this book, seems like they'll be going with the same formula as Amagi and PW.
Amagi is a fun show throughout, just that the ending is a bit downer since not only did the villain just got away it also ended in a pretty big cliffhanger.
PW improved on that since the ending is great, and with just one dialogue line the villain weren't just some random no-reason edgy fuck. Not to mention that after the first half every episode has a little sequence, event or dialogues that was referenced in further episodes so that the ending makes more sense too, like how the eleventh referenced the sixth.
Probably means every VEG episode will leave one random clue that'll slowly lead to the finale.
