The difference here is that Kurapika and Killua/Gon's plans weren't fully revealed until the characters' victory were more or less sure. Chrollo has revealed so much stuff in the first chapter of the fight only. He still kept bits of info for himself, like the fact that the seal prevent the copies from dissapear, but it would be too weird if he wins the way he said he's going to win, and he already pulled out so much stuff on this fight that it would be even weirder if he wins with an ability he hasn't mentioned yet (weird from a narrative standpoint, for the character it would make sense since he must have a shitton of abilities).
