First of all, clearly you're biased against if. Have you ever given it a chance without preconceived notions? There's a lot more to hip hop than what you hear on the radio. And the "gangsta" things is a reflection of how certain people live. Like in country where they talk about rural things or narco-corridos in Mexico talk about the drug trade. It's a form of expression, which can be glorifying, but also showing just what other communities go through.

I've been listening to various Mogra events for the past few months, not just Anison Index/Matrix. I get to hear a lot of different stuff, and sometimes the same stuff.
Maybe two months ago I started playing around with a free DJ software (Cross DJ Free) and a few weeks ago I was working the stage area at a free one-day mallcon. At one point I played Ievan Polka from my laptop and it was awesome to see the Miku cosplay girls go nuts for it. That was some serious powah shit right there.
The next week I found a good deal on a couple of entry-tier USB controllers (no sound cards inside), so I upgraded to the non-free version that supports them. Mostly I'm just playing around for now, watching various tutorials on YT and finding assorted info about DJ equipment by googling. Got to learn what they are doing with those knobs and why, shit like beat matching and how the cue button works. Now I can sort of understand what's going on when I watch a Mogra stream.
