Can someone explain to me why for three series now they've flat out refused to let the main character grow? Yusei stayed the same, Yuma stayed the same and they were rewarded for it, Yuya stays the same and the plot fucks his shit up for it. I'm getting tired as hell of seeing everybody getting triggered the fuck off every time he opens his mouth and now it looks like we'll be seeing a whole 2 weeks worth of triggering from the twins, the shun, the Yuto and Edo, who didn't even duel this episode and was still triggered as shit. The only good thing is that Allen and Sakaya suck so much they'll never duel again. The bad thing is that Allen will be taking already be taking the limited xyz space while Shun and Yuto take the other 2

Yuya hasn't stayed the same whatsoever. Yeah, he still holds firm to his ideals, but his approach and way of doing things is completely changed from how he was at the start.
In the first arc he would break down whenever someone even used his summon method.
He was impulsive and full of himself thanks to his family providing too much support without any real guidance. So, he was self-righteous, conceited, and obsessed with following behind his father.
Hell, synchro was all about getting him out of that without removing the ideal. Which it did. By the end of it he was vastly more considerate of the opinions and viewpoints of others and actively made efforts to show his points through dueling rather than chastising people for seeing things differently from himself.
This leads to him actually almost getting through to Kaito which is more than anyone else aside XYZ born duelists could do.
You can say his development is slow, yeah. But, to say he hasn't developed would be a complete lie.

Nah, from what we've been shown from every fodder across the dimensions is that your strength is tied to your will rather than your cards. Cardians are white hot garbage but Enjoy is really good at being a top decking motherfucker, Superheavies have no protection, no real consistant search or constant refill to be a synchro deck yet here we are. Hi=Speedroids rely on some outrageous luck yet Yugo is incredible at using them, he's completely undefeated so far. Asuka uses the risky play style of Rituals flawlessly and Yuya runs a deck full of three archetypes but he always manages to use cards that mostly dimentive such as Block Spider, Smile World and Tuning Magician to his advantage. The Taylor's must of wanted to win more than the resistance wanted to beat them there's no real skill in the show just willpower.

I hated Zexal because they relied heavily on Xyz monsters. Duels were like Xyz, or bust. I felt the same about 5D's initially, but as the show progress, non-synchro monsters played bigger roles than just being monsters tributed for synchros.
