If you think about it, Carol is the most interesting character in the story. She is the only one that has had any development. Tomo is still in love with Jun but to shy to force that relationship forward. Jun clearly has an interest in Tomo that he has either subconsciously or actively repressing/ignoring in favor of keeping his current bro relationship with Tomo. Misuzu enjoys taunting the duo and thrives of the ambiguity in their relationship. These situations have remained largely unchanged since the start, but Carol is the only one who has developed. She went from being the token ditsy, blonde bombshell with insecurities that lead her to want to "fight" Tomo, after seeing some competition to her large female assets in her husbando's social circle, to Misuzu's psychological rival all while picking up the two main girls as friends.
