It wasn't that bad. Sure, it was a mashup of three different anime, one of which went on to become its own franchise entirely. But that doesn't make it any less of an anime. Sure, it wasn't exactly a seamless connection of them all, and there were plenty of thing wrong with how many of the technologies from each were outright absent, but it was still an anime

Macross was only slightly better than its Robotech rendition, and only because they changed the Zentradi grow/shrink tanks to protoculture tanks for some odd reason. Otherwise, they're pretty much exactly the same.

I don't intend for it to be relevant. If it's dead, then so be it; it was good while it lasted. I wasn't around when it aired, so really I couldn't care less; I don't care about a movie coming out. All I think is that it was, in some respects, an anime. RWBY is the same way, too. Based on the fact that anime, in essence, animation, RWBY and Robotech are no different, albeit not conventional ones
