Assassination Classroom is the best anime that I can remember seeing. There is not a single thing about it that I dislike. Who else agrees?

I liked watching S1 and will probably watch S2 when it finishes but what bugs me about the show is how 1/2 - 3/4 of the cast are literally a waste of space

Typical shounen anime filled with "life lessons" often given in speech form after some sort of revelation or some character beating a weakness.
Nobody has negative traits, if they do, rest assured an episode will come along to make sure that the negative trait is shown to be a positive or to stamp out that negative trait with an aforementioned life lesson. A plethora of "just passing through" characters typical for shounen anime. Most of the "bad guys" are just "misunderstood" or have have other feel good excuses for being "bad" and never have conflicting world ideals which would make for an actual interesting "bad guy".
The character design is bland. The animation is ok, it isn't bad but nothing stands out as particularly good either. The voice acting is bland.
Also the premise is as dumb as they come, even for anime&mongo standards. If you praise this but hate Naruto you are applying double standards, i.e. if you enjoy this there is no reason to not enjoy Naruto.

The only good thing about this anime was the idea that Nagisa might be a girl, but they thoroughly ruined that with that swimming episode.
>>
>>141966562
Is this bait? Not even the biggest AssClass fans consider the anime to be that good. It's got some good episodes, but yeh it's very bland. The manga is of course better but even that's an 8/10 at best.
>>

>"want to be so cool with the edgiest theme we can find"
This series is extremely light-hearted with the given premise, to the point where it makes some people sick.
>>
>>141973901
>how is it edgy
Assassination classroom. Assassination. That is probably the edgiest theme I can think of for an anime with school age characters.
>main character is a homosexual's wet dream" only appearance-wise
That's far more than enough though. A girly faggot little boy ruins the series for everyone but underage fags or fujo, I am pretty sure about that.
>>
>>141973818
Hello, ESL-kun.
>>
>>141973955
Have you read the manga? Or are we just drawing conclusions basing of names now? It's a light-hearted series with little dark elements in it. If a main character's appearance affects your taste towards a series then I'd really hate to be you.

>Have you read the manga?
No, god no. 5 episodes were more than enough.
>Or are we just drawing conclusions basing of names now?
I told you that the theme is edgy. How is the theme not edgy, however light hearted they are about it?
>If a main character's appearance affects your taste towards a series then I'd really hate to be you
Anime is a visual medium, of course it matters to me whether they're trying to appeal to my taste, or pander to homos/fujos instead.

I knew that fanboys are the worst kind of people, especially when it comes to something this casual, but damn is it still cringe worthy.
>>
>>141974053
>5 episodes were more than enough
So you think your opinion amounts to anything? Kek

>How is the theme not edgy, however light hearted they are about it?
Look up the word "charm", you'll surely appreciate it a lot. The series takes a theme that is supposed to be edgy light-heartedly, which in turn produces a story that piques the interest of readers. It's a bit tough for you to understand but try to keep up. Repeating umbrella terms only make your arguments incoherent don't you agree?

>or pander to homos/fujos instead.

What?
Naruto is a show about retard ninjas, who wear ORANGE while they try to be Gokus and Vegetas.

You complain about how every character improve itsself, but this what this show is about.
A teacher should teach more than "2+2=4", teachers shold teach about life too and every character desenvolved a bit, everyone grew up.

And it is a fun anime to watch just that, we are not reading a book here.

Nothing happens the manga. Literally every situation ever is solved through some bullshit solution and has no impact on the overall plot besides some development for the student central to said situation. Student that is going to spend the rest of the manga doing almost nothing.
I dropped it when Kaede or whatever is her name got defeated by a kiss. Of all the bullshit solutions, this one takes the cake. Not like "le god of death xD" being a completely underwhelming villain just before that helped anything.

THIS

Plot Convenience, the show.

Plus: the story should be about students who try to kill the teacher and consequently learn life lessons from it. But strangely they never do this. Practically there are no assassination attempts from the kids.

>>141974900
And stop using OPM as an excuse. I don't even like the series, but is part of the comical premise everything be easy to Saitama. In AC, on the other hand, everything be easy makes no sense, since the story is about students learning things.

Much like Neuro, interesting characters and concepts but absolutely mediocre execution that wastes all its potential. I guess this is what happens when you write for kids. Matsui should just leave WSJ to not be held back.

It's not horrible, I'm sticking with it until the end. I still like the characters and most episodes aren't offensively bad. But it's nothing special and it feels like it tries not to be anything special.

You do realize it bases that of searches right? So all you have proven is that "fit a requi-" is most often completed as "fit a requirement".

Also, after typing in "fit a requi-" ho many ways do you think google can finish that sentence? There are 3-4 words in the English language that start with "requi-", of course it is going to autocomplete it as "requirement".

Can you at least try to prove me wrong, this shit is embarrassing. Is this how you spellcheck your homework? By typing it into google and seeing how it autocompletes it? please be American

The Oxford Collocations Dictionary says the following:

VERB+requirement: comply with, fit, fulfill, match, meet, satisfy, suit. The Macmillan Collocations Dictionary gives three more verbs, "achieve", "adhere to", "conform to".

Educate yourself peasant, accepting defeat isn't that hard even with your inflated ego.

Requirements can be better or worse than others.

EG. I must have a drink.

I can have a preference for certain kinds of drinks.

Think about it like a GRE problem, anon. There are questions that can have 5 correct answers but only one is more correct than the others.

>>
>>141980430
A lot of words, but you aren't saying a whole lot. The OED and by extension the OCD is the de facto authority on the English language, and while it receives criticism for exactly that, it doesn't change the fact in the slightest.

If "fit requirements" is correct, I promise you it will be in the more recent version of the OCD (which I do not own). All you have to do is post it, some anon in this thread claimed to have it, but he has yet to post an image proving it.

>>141980686
Well while we are busy lets just accept nigger speak as well since it gets used a lot. Lets just forget about my "compact bible" because that is convenient now.
>>
>>141980843
Change what the fact in the slightest? You are reluctant to admit that your logic is flawed and while I do admire your perseverance you are nevertheless purblind towards open thinking and resort towards a book which you admitted yourself is quite flawed. Answer my question. If a collocation isn't found in the dictionary does it mean it would be wrong to collocate the aforementioned words? You are grasping at a ridiculously thin straw here while so far the only rebuttal you have is that the collocation does not exist in the dictionary and subsequently provide no more arguments.
>>

Would I know what a person meant when they said it? Yes
Would I be a pedantic zealout about it IRL? No.
Will I be a pedantic zealout about it when anons try to bullshit me with google autocomplete and a, as of yet, elusive copy of the OCD? Look at this thread for the answer to that.
Personally I would be very reluctant to use it if it was not mentioned in the OCD, there isn't a single instance in which you couldn't replace "fit" with, for example, "meet".
>>
>>141981217
I am not keeping tabs on who is posting what. It feels like I am talking to 4 or so people, but who knows, like I said, no way to prove any of it anyway so who cares.
>>
>>141981274
Even after all those bullshit evidence the others provided that hold no veracity, you refused to acknowledge the further arguments that have been quite coherent. You personal whims are highly irrelevant to the credence of the collocation itself, which I believe an alleged pedantic zealot like you should know. Even if the verb "fit" before requirement is interchangeable most of the time, it does not dent its validity in the slightest.
>>
>>141981118

It does when "meet" is included in the OCD and "fit" is not. It isn't as if we are talking about an obscure colloquialism from some Welsh village. If "fit" is as widely used as is being implied in this thread, it will be included in the OCD, this isn't an amateur student project we are talking about.

I keep repeating this, but it really is quite simple. Just point me towards the edition of the OCD that includes "fit".

>>141981697
How does frequency of a collocation affect its validity I may ask? No one here said that "fit" is widely used, the Google Books results only suggests that the collocation has been used by several authors, which is why it wasn't included in the dictionary in the first place. Then again, the collocation "match requirement" isn't in your dictionary as well. Would you call that wrong too? Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, is that too hard to understand?

No, but it would be peculiar for the OCD to not add it to say the least, and until they do there is no reason to accept it as strictly speaking correct. Languages evolve, shit gets changed all the time, but like I said OED and OCD are final.

Golliwogs&co here speak English in the most butchered forms. Do I understand them and do they understand each other? Yes, sure, that doesn't make it correct though, not until the guys at the top decide to say it is correct and add it.which I honestly hope is never, the day they start blanket adding wogspeak is the day I am packing up and leaving for a different island
>>
>>141982157
Yes, I understand your point, but this makes it seem like everything served only as a plot device. The resolution of Kaede's drama was too fast. I expected a little more substance, a little more participation of her classmates. The scene was perfect for that.
>>
>>141982205
The problem with all of this is that your points mainly constitute of argumentum ad ignorantiam. Does the dictionary denounce the usage of the collocation? Well this might be negative proof as well, you fail to realize that the OCD is merely a book that systematizes commonly accepted combinations of words rather than a de facto authoritative, which I pardon for dismissing that statement earlier. As stated on the cover of the book itself, it is for students of English, so it was meant to be a reference book. Having that said, your nignog example is not relevant in this case, as it is highly implausible to call "fit requirement" a butchered form of English, where it may be an obscure collocation at worst. How long are you gonna be here anyway, that person ain't coming back I assure you

Well, certainly it would be more fun than "here, take a kiss and your problem is completely solved". That's just safe writing, really.

Kaede's issue was the fact that she wanted to know why her sister died and why Koro-sensei is the way he is
The kiss was basically a "calm the fuck down and listen"
Why does nobody understand this

The kiss was great, though. Nagisa should've had more shit like that instead of constantly relying on the fucking clap.

Well without it authoritative nature the OED/OCD loses all meaning. This has always been one of it biggest criticisms. It being a language Nazi dictating what goes and what doesn't.
Without these books giving us the "rules" we can all agree on, it would boil down to if you can make yourself understood or not. This is already largely the case with textspeak, streetspeak, wogspeak etc., none of it is "official" but it all finds major use anyway.
There is a fine line to be drawn though, if you go with an "anything goes policy" there is no agreed upon language to communicate with each other with, oevr time you'd need to bring along a translator for each separate county you entered. On the other hand Oxford at the moment is arguably too conservative, not moving with its time of the digital/internet era. The people at the top running the show at Oxford are to set in their ways and unwilling to accept unconventional/modern language into the officially recognized "correct" language.
How and where you would want to balance "new language vs old language" is a question that goes over my head though.

TL;DR
Without Oxford's authoritative nature "fit requirement" would be as correct as people understand it.
