Does it? I'm getting the whole red oni/blue oni type of deal between the two. Keith is emotional and blunt where as Roid is calm and reserved. They obviously serve as foils to each other, to balance out each other's flaws and strengths. Keith has too much of a one track mind to be the main villain. I don't think Roid is the main villain, especially given his popularity, but he's still a wild card at this point whereas Keith is pretty much pigeonholed into the ace pilot role.

The interesting thing about their aging is that it's not just normal humanoid aging compressed down to 30 years. Their childhoods appear to be just as long, and the older Windmerians we've seen don't look particularly old compared to their age they just have that skin condition going on.
Makes me think that whatever happens to them after 30 may not be a necessity based on their biology per se, but more of a pre-programmed limit. Perhaps the intent was that they should be a Zentradi style slave race with a specific task and limits put in place to prevent them from becoming too dangerous? With them being one of the later species it would make sense that the project might have been abandoned mid-way as the Zentradi/Supervision/Protoculture conflicts heated up.

I don't think protoculture had that level of control over the species they engineered aside from the Zentradi. My guess would be their short lifespan is a side effect of having fold reactors next to their head.
Theory time. Windermerians were engineered so that they could create a artificial fold network among protoculture species like the Vajra. It would allow other the other seeded races ro "ride the wind". However this caused a shortened lifespan which Protoculture never got around fixing. Var Sybdrome is acrually "Riding the Wind" in a negative frequency.
Ending will allow future generations of Windermerians to have longer lifespans but Freyja and the Knights will still die around 30

at least that's how it is for the main series, don't expect some full-blown nitty gritty mecha action here. we still got some mecha action, just don't expect every episode will be about them.
I think ep 6 got the best action sequence so far, so watch at least until that episode. although feel free to drop it anytime cause I know this show isn't for everyone.
