>character starts off as a pathetic loser/wimp
>comes back later as a complete and utter badass
Post other cliché shit you like seeing in this wonderful medium.
>Tropes
Fuck off back to where you came from retard.
Red/Blue Oni, especially if its a surprise swap where the Blue Oni is the hothead
Raki is the king of necks.

>OP is a faggot
My favorite cliché!
>antagonist wins and the protag gets btfo
Like fate zero ending
>>141913698
Don't YOU ever post in my thread again without contributing.
>>141913891
shame a lot of sports series do this to the point where I just expect the protagonist to get BTFO at the end of the series every time
>>141913586
When the long-term villain joins the MC and they become best buddies.
>>141913586
>character starts off as a pathetic loser/wimp
>turns into a complete and ruthless asshole as well as badass
>>141913881
>cliché
you mean "STANDARD" ?!
>>141916199
Did this ever happen to the MC though?
>>141916414
What do you mean? Did you not read it or simply don't agree that he was wimpy or that he didn't turn badass and into a complete asshole?
When Furuichi decides to take his pride back in Beelzebub
>Like fate zero ending
Not really.

>MC starts off as a victim everyone steps on
>he becomes an incredible anti hero
>hero defeats the recurring villain, but spares his life
>they become bros

King of Heroes, come here and suck my dick!
>ally ends up being manipulative evil asshole
I really wish his was used more and to better effect than most examples
>>141913586
>MC isn't the actual chosen one
>Chill/calm/good-humored character gets serious
>He fucks shit up
>>141913586
Raw fucking rage and brutal beatdowns that follow
>>141913586
>Raki
>complete and utter badass
He still gets bent over and spread by any Claymore with 1 hand. I actually liked that, good change from the usual cliche's where some guy goes off training and gains fucking superpower out the ass.
>>141918883
This, best shit. There's a reason I didn't miss a single episode of DBZ as a kid when they fought Frieza for almost an entire year.
Actually the reason I liked DBZ so much, no stupid motivational speeches or gay ass philosophy, the way to get over the obstacle is to get fucking pissed and break through it.
>>141913586
You forgot to add
>pic unrelated
The only thing I love is when awful characters get the deaths they deserve
I absolute detest when they just walk away, fuck that. The rest of the series resolution has to be fantastic for me to overlook it
>>141918883
>they turned out to be best bros after as well
>>141918990
It's been awhile since I read it, but didn't he become the strongest human?
>>141919168
Also the fucking best how many times has this happened? I can't think of many
>>141919239
In Kongou Bancho half of beaten villains turn into reliable friends.
>>141919173
He did, by far too. However he was still only barely able to disarm an 8-12 year old little girl Claymore who hadn't even been fully trained yet.
He did kill normal yoma though if I recall correctly, which is more than any human has ever done. He's still far below any Claymore though, let alone the ones with out of control powerlevel creep towards the later parts of the manga.
>>141919417
Yea that was really the only good thing about Bancho. I still don't get how they turned into 1000 foot tall beings and punched each other around the earth.
>>141913586
>Tropes
Fuck off.
>>141919475
>I still don't get how they turned into 1000 foot tall beings and punched each other around the earth.
They are literally an apex of all life on a planet.
>>141919573
That still doesn't explain the bullshit reasoning behind it. Also if they are they apex more then one of them should be able to existed at full power without destroying the earth. Fuck even one if he's not careful would kill the planet.
I haven't seen this trope in a while but its the one where the main character gets tormented by another character. You get a whole bunch of episodes about how this antagonist is making the mains life a living hell... only later when you get into the grit of it you learn that antagonist actually used to care about the main but they were/felt betrayed in some way
>>141918230
You mean rapist. The dude deserves to suffer.
>>141913586
Edgelords with dead parents. MUH VENGEANCE. Also I really enjoy stoic MCs here and there.
>strong character is introduced in a series
>actually loses power throughout the story because of a lack of training or injuries he may have gotten
>>141919680
Same way as how dinosaurs roamed the earth.
>>141919239
GTO
>>141913586
>that kid
>Badass
Literally weaker than everyone else in the series. Even the weakest could kill him.
>Asspulls done right
I won't know if they were done right until they're actually pulled, but I fucking loved it.
>MC relies on traps in order to win
Bonus points for being over the top
>villain of an early arc is actually far stronger than most of the cast at that point
>MC only wins because of either certain circumstances or because of having an ability that lets him counter the opponent's
>said villain becomes an aloof ally in later arcs and shows how strong they really are against the newer, more powerful enemies
>>141918715
Raymundo was kinda shit too but it was nice seeing Omi get so BTFO
>>141913586
I also loves this, OP.
Sadly it almost never happens, specially with MCs.
>Standoffish and more pragmatic character of the group decides to sacrifice himself so the rest can escape/complete the mission
>MC stops him and tells him that they will all go home together
>"MC-kun, baka..."
the TROPE where I get some natty dubs
>>141918230
>Later gets wrecked by a retard with a shitty sword and bleeds out in a forest, alone
characters that start off as assholes but have a heart of gold
>MC who wins through sheer willpower and a little asspull
>>141923686
I just pretend that ending never happened, and the manga is forever on hiatus.
