Anyway, this flashback is brilliant. This isn't a flashback that provides motivation or goals to either of these girls. Katori's family is okay, Hana's is lost but it wasn't the best family, Hana joins Border just because of the benefits, Katori halfassedly comes along.
It's just miserable and horrible and harsh and you can see why tensions are probably high for Katori Squad in present day. This explains things, but doesn't excuse anything. It's great.

I'm usually pretty immune to gore, but finger injuries always get to me (this, Joyline Jostar's power, and Higurashi nail scene to name a few).
The cleaner image always makes things better and worse depending on the scene too. The crap scans actually made me come up with a theory that Yoko because a self serving only in for the money as she grew older type. Since if you notice that Katori house its old, small, made entirely out of wood, and it was inherited from their grandparents suggesting the Katori household had financial troubles. So the extra money from border finally allowed Yoko money on beauty products.

I don't really see her succeeding here. Kakizaki's flashback followed him ordering Teruya to go after Chika, and was interspersed with fight and an internal monologue about what his mistakes up to that point had been. Leading up to the 'reward' of inflicting major damage on Yuma.
Katori's flashback hasn't had any of that. It's just an explanation of why Katori and Hana joined Border. Which isn't anything particularly deep. They lost their homes to the first invasion, and Hana lost her parents. Hana then joined Border seeking the opportunities that they offered, and Katori basically tagged along to help her out. It also establishes that Katori's laziness is a long standing character flaw.
There's nothing to show Katori getting insight into what's wrong with her behavior. She's the same as she's been. The only thing she's got going for her at the moment is that she's pissed off that Osamu and Yuma are undeterred by bouncing off the top B-rank teams, and possibly that they have high minded ideals for reaching the top, when she just has pride and personal gain on the line.
That shouldn't be enough for her to do anything. At best spite will make her stop caring about scoring points, enabling her to damage Yuma enough that he bails out giving Kakizaki unit the point, herself being defeated in the process.
Either way, I expect her to be defeated without scoring any points next chapter. Leaving Teruya as the only threat.
On that note, assuming that Katori gets BTFO, how do people think T-2 will deal with Teruya? Will she miss a dodge and get lead bullet sniped by Chika? Will she reach Chika only to be the first victim of Chika using an asteroid or hound lead bullet? Will Osamu and Yuma intercept and defeat her before she gets to Chika?

Also, I don't know why you're conflating a victory with 'brawn' because getting a full 8 points is very much a case of them out playing their opponents, which is something Hyuse would appreciate. Besides, they're only at 4 points right now. Even if they take out Katori they'd only have 5 points. If Teruya gets Chika and then draws herself into a defensive battle to wait out the time limit they lose the point they would get from her as well as the bonus survival points. I think you are oversimplyfying it. Guns just help them control their trion better which isn't a bad idea at all if you don't have as much as certain shooters. Also I guess sometimes the more tools the more confusing it can get. So you still need to quickly judge which weapon is best and draw it. And of course use it so there's more weapons to master and come up with tactics.

It's more like they're more efficient and you are really underestimating the difficulty of using Shooter triggers. Even the best Shooters seem to have to take time to ready their Trion, calculate and distribute their shot's attributes, and then fire. They are much harder to use with a payoff that only seems become worth it if you can invest a lot of time into developing your skills with them, at the expense of other kinds of training. There's probably a good reason few All-Rounders we've seen so far combine their melee weapons with Shooter triggers. The opportunity cost of training for Shooter triggers seems pretty high for most people.
Using a Gunner trigger skips all those steps and lets you work on everything else and allows you to be effective with them without a particularly high Trion rating. And because Gunners can afford to focus on other areas of training we've seen them in more varied positions where they can support, more easily throw Shields up, and carry different kinds of Option triggers.

It's actually not that complicated. Just a little tedious.
You don't need a Japanese credit card. You do, however, need a Japanese google play card. You can buy them online and they'll send you the code electronically.
I was going to make a post about this before, but after game updates, issues tend to pop up (and make the gem shop crash more often) so I abstained, but the main points are:
1. Make sure you can access the gem shop without it crashing. Do this before you buy the Japanese google play cards. You will need a google account that thinks you're from Japan and a vpn that will connect you to the Japanese server.
Sometimes the gem shop will still crash. Try turning on/off your phone, the vpn, logging on/off your Japanese google account, etc.
2. You need to your google account "set up" to take Japanese currency, and the easiest way to set it up is through Google Wallet.

I don't know why he would have to use a different set-up to be different. You can have a style that differs from others even using similar Triggers.
Besides, Osamu is actually a really shitty Shooter and a hybrid All-Rounder no less. Hyuse on deck with Viper, Hound, and Asteroid offer more to the team than another Attacker. He can serve in an offensive capacity to help them earn points while being a midrange support with Shooter triggers.

What we know about shooter triggers is that user can alter their characteristics such as speed and power and spend different amounts of trion. Also they can be combined with optional triggers (like wire) just fine. Considering the huge amount of trion supply Hyuse possesses asteroid lead bullets shouldn't be a problem for him. I wonder if you can combine shields with asteroid, this sounds both insane and useless. Anyway I wonder if tamakoma's getting one more lead bullet user.

Lead bullets on gun/shooter triggers are still slow because most of the trion goes to making the weight. Hyuse's trion amount won't matter because he isn't using a sniper trigger, which would scale the bullets. Miwa only uses lead bullet because he also wields kogetsu.

The shooter triggers scale the bullets as well. Remember Osamu using Asteroid with Chika's trion? The problem is that none of the gunner or shooter triggers are specifically built for speed the way that the Lightning is. That would probably make it more difficult to get shooter lead bullets up to speed.
