Watching the AA anime made me realize the only reason I enjoyed the game was because of the localization. It's like Ghost Story, but more toned down.

They have options in Crunchy. No idea why Horrible choose to leave them out.
The only mistake was not looking beyond the first game and billing the localized setting as an LA/Tokyo hybrid so that all the mysticism in games 2 and beyond aren't as weird. That way, you keep the pun names without having an incongruent setting.
There's also the issue of changing "getting ramen" to "getting burgers" in LA of all places.
