The only anime they've done that can really be considered SoL in the past decade are Tamako Market and K-On and possibly Nichijou though i think that's pushing it.

I'm not defending grimgar in particular, the point was that if you just cherrypick out the sakuga from the anime of a season you can spin almost any narrative you want.
I do concede that Kyoani shows have on average more of such scenes but that alone isn't enough to redeem everything else, as evidenced by how shitty Musaigen turned out to be.

It's not that hard to hire people to tell you how shit should be done. Kojima did the same thing for Metal Gear, he doesn't know anything about the military so he hires some one to help him make sure everything is realistic.
