I only watched it last month and I've been watching anime for about five years now.

Yeah these are the original scans from the music batch I DL'ed. Those recolors/resizes on that DA are well done. healing brush can only do so much and there is intricate stuff in the center so it only works but so well, so it requires someone going in and fixing it by hand and I don't feel like it right now.

Yup, it was wordy but gave you a lot of insight into the motivations of key characters. Lot's of dialogue was also spent on explaining things to Shichika. Since this show was a monthly, the episodes were an hour long and that's a lot of time to fill before a fight scenes. They themselves were great, but the plot, for me, was a greater payoff.
Even if it didn't end the way I thought it should have, dammit!

Possibly one of the worst endings I ever seen in an anime.Let me get this straight. Mc's lover is killed by the ninja hired by the princess. Mc goes full rage mode and somehow takes out 11 weapon masters. Then when fighting the ninja that killed his girlfriend, he kills him fairly bloodied and it was implied he was on death's door. He see the Shogan and the princess. He kills the shogan. You were disappointed because you thought he died but at least was happy he killed the guy who killed his girlfriend. Nope. Fuck that. Instead the faggot is alive and the princess....yes the same women who ordered her ninja to kill his girlfriend is in good relations with the guy and travelling with him.

Maybe you didn't pay attention, but Hitei never ordered Emonzaemon to kill Togame, he did because he thought Togame was a life threat to Hitei, and honestly she was.
But even so, Hitei and Togame kinda considered each other the closest thing to consider a friend, and like Hitei said to Shichika at the end: "I never disliked her".
The most interesting point here is Togame, because no one knows how far she was willing to carry on with her vengeance plan: like killing Shichika, wiping out the entire shgunate and the Maniwani, taking all the blades to herself, and maybe even commiting suicide if she ended up killing Shichika and regretting it.

I hate people that hate Katanagatari's ending just because they didn't understand it or the series itself.
Katanagatari is a story of failure and coming to terms with that failure. The characters that mature and come out of the events for better are the ones that learn to appreciate the journey they took to reach their dreams, even though said dreams never reached fruition. Togame realises this as she dies, because getting revenge isn't all it's cracked up to be, but travelling around Japan with Shichika made it all worth it. Shichika also reaches the same conclusion after failing to protect Togame and failing to die to Emonzaemon's hands, the only person who could kill him at this point, which is why he doesn't execute Hitei and allows her to follow him around while he pursues the dream he shared with Togame of mapping out Japan, a dream that is entirely made worthwile by the journey one takes to complete it.

You can extract most of the ost from the youtube playlist altough the quality might be a bit lower.
The boss rush at the end was the funnest part of this show. That being said I enjoyed it but a couple episodes near the middle were just too slow and almost pointless.

I wouldn't call it that but I know what you mean. If anything I feel it's trying to imitate traditional japanese scroll paintings, at least with the scenery surrounding them and the poses. Obviously the human faces and features look a lot better thankfully.
I don't think there's any other anime with type of style, Katanagatari was very unique about its visual presentation.
