I felt the series was much more immersive, and had a bigger focus on side characters. I simply loved seeing the characters interact. The entire Market felt alive and welcoming. The movie had more concise and simple development, which I guess is why people like it so much. I particularly don't care as much for character development or plot or anything like that.

They really did a great job at portraying the title themselves. Like the market shenanigans were great but the movie lacked them since it was a love story.

Free is original as well, the two TV series are at least.
The LN is called High Speed which is what the Free movie is. High Speed is the characters as elementary schoolers though. Utsumi decided to age up the characters and make an original story with them.

I could barely get through 3 episodes of Tamako Market. I don't love KyoAni or hate it, so this isn't based on the fact that they made it, but I just found it incredibly boring, even for a SoL.
Apparently Love Story is better, so maybe give that a shot if you're up for it, but I would strongly recommend saving yourself some time and skipping Market.

I sincerely believe that K-ON is not only the best anime ever made but also the best piece of entertainment ever made. Anyway, I felt the movie arc wasn't nuanced and idiosyncratic enough to increase ones appreciation of the character's as individualls. There was romance enough to move ticket sales in theaters, but the result was overly polished and predictablet.
