Maybe it weren't someone in the group, neither were it Masaki. In the OP Masaki is seen with a white silhouetted person. And in episode six one of the reveal is a girl name Masaki disappeared.
Maybe that person is the actual Masaki who disappeared and have a relation to the Masaki who is in the group now running with Mitsumune, she adapted the handler Masaki in hope the real Masaki appear amongst the group. And that didn't happened yet.

I think Masaki familiarity to the village is she were apart of the older group too before the disappearances and escaped, that's why she joined the tour again, she know the mechanism to not get effected by the hallucinations. Or, maybe the Masaki who disappeared sent the current Masaki letters before the events happened to her. Wouldn't it come as a surprise if they come across a couple dairies too and it is addressed to someone.
In episode two she did say she could see in the future or something of that sort, so maybe she can't see into the future as she claim. It's her brain triggering something from her past she may have forgotten about, yet in her subconscious still remember it.

The hallucinations can pretty clearly be dispelled with ease, if Lovepon took a stick to hers and won. This is debatable. However, maybe Masaki tried to chase after them and got into a scruffle when she caught up to them demanding answers, they cut her blouse with the weapon they had on their person (the knife seen in the preview for episode seven?) and before they could finish her, heard someone else coming (Mitsumune) and hid. That could explain the eye he saw.
