I'm 27 years old and I'm watching the same cartoons I did when I was 7, only in a different language. What did you do to me, /a/This shit is actually surprisingly good.
We need a modern remake with adult grimdark tones and more normal looking human characters.

I don't think MORE grimdark tones are necessary, or even possible. I'm only two episodes in, but so far

I'll say sorry for being such a pleb, but I don't know enough myself so I'll ask here. Is the most commonly watched Moomin series the Japanese one? 1990s?
Moomin is one of those things you see here and there every so often but isn't usually actively discussed so I don't really know much about it.

Well, it's the one I watched because it's the one that aired here when I was a kid.
And it's actually pretty good, visually too, I fear that the older one might be a bit too dated(plus I'm not sure it's even available in English).

I think the older series are avoided mainly because they stray very far from Tove Jansson's vision of the characters.
