Is it just me, or are the OC scenes in this series consistently really good?
First the whole "let me defend you / please defend me" scene". Now in this episode we have Maya getting Phoenix to stay up all night watching all of the Steel Samurai, and then Phoenix using that to give a speech to Cody about righteousness (which Oldbag eavesdrops on and convinces her too). That's way better than what the game did (e.g. the trading card fetch quest). It's developing Maya's/Nick's/Oldbag's character, foreshadowing what happened to Hammer, and getting all this done quickly without feeling rushed.
Also Nick tucking in Maya.

You skip debut of the all-new cast and most miserable chapter in Nick's life, but they literally don't play any role in DD, you'll be just aware of who the fuck Apollo Justice is and won't be as pissed about the fact that they reduced Trucy into "le panties" one joke girl. On the other hand people speculate that they'll do something with AJ's plotlines in AA6, as Ema Skye returns and Trucy finally received her "inheritance" I guess.
As a standalone title I personally like AJ, music is great, first case was amazing, I like second case, but after second case it goes downhill and saddest part is that upon playing you'll be seeing absolutely great ideas just executed not well enough. It's missed potential the game.

A-1 did it boys, two good episodes in a row. I really really liked that Cody's testimony was handled like a Rebuttal from Ace Attorney Investigations, it allowed them not to wrap up Investigation part of the case in 10 minutes and fly straight to the court. Basically, they really need to twist and turn source material around to fit with what 20 minutes per episode allows them, not the other way around how Turnabout Sisters' adaptation did it. Personally, at this point I have a very good feeling adaptation of Turnabout Goodbyes will be actually good. I guess in the end what fucked adaptations of first two cases over was that they were tutorial cases through and through, and heavily dependet on your feedback as a player.

While it was a little strange that the trial is two days later and not one like every time in the games (although you could justify it as the next day being a holiday or something), the fact that they removed the second day trial and merged the day two and three investigations together actually improves the pacing since the third day there (both investigation and trial) was stupidly short. Not to mention they realized two-day trials just work better by the next game where three-day trials stopped appearing entirely.
