This is how a real street fight goes more like. Without all the monologues, carefully planned strategies, planned techniques, shit just goes man.
The simple fact is that in a face to face fight, the bigger person usually wins because size, strength, reach and leverage are dominating factors and usually there isn't a significant enough difference in skill or training to offset these advantages. That being said, training in almost any combat sport or martial arts can sometimes offset these differences because of strength training, muscle training to move effectively and efficiently, and technique.
However taking an even further step back, most fights will begin and end with a sucker punch or getting knocked down and getting the shit kicked out of you.

I used to practice boxing because I was a stupid kid that got into stupid fights, and while having actual training is an advantage, the guy who won a fight the vast majority of the time in my experience was the guy who gave less of a fuck.
When I got my ass-kicked it was never by the guy who did Taekwondo and bragged about his belts, it was by the dude who smashed my face in quick and kicked me until I couldn't feel my legs. I'm sure things work out different when there're two dudes out of to kill each other, but all my life I've been afraid of the guy who seemed ready to stab a dude.

Do you think Holyland and other martial arts series such as All Rounder Meguru and Teppu have a chance at getting animated?
I'd imagine it'd be difficult animating them since the sheer amount of movement required to portray the actions, also during the fights there's internal monologue going on slowly as the fight progresses detailing techniques, openings etc. In which an anime adaption will have trouble showing whereas in manga it's easier to digest.
I believe studios that are specialised in fight choreography such as Bones or Madhouse could potentially pull it off.
