The arc just started. One is slow to update. Murata is inconsistent with his and lacking in content. You're not getting the actual manga MA arc anytime soon. You're going have to deal with it.

I think the filler is alright, it's just the slow updates that is killing it, which is mostly due to Murata working with Capcom that one time, him drawing extra chapters, and iicr a earthquake recently hit Japan and I think Murata's relatives were caught in it. With the webcomic, nothing is wasted. The Monster Association arc is paced well and ONE's fantastic paneling keeps it interesting.
Since the tournament in Murata's version began, all it has been is set-up. Little of substance is added and many pages are boring and bland. I understand how these chapters could factor on later to flesh the Monster Association arc but at this point I don't know if it's worth it if it means dozens of wasted pages at the expense of a tight pace and strong direction.

Bringing Fubuki earlier into the arc than the webcomic is a decent idea to flesh her out some more before her larger role at the end of the arc.
But so far I'm not impressed at all, especially if it ends up as some pointless fanservice fueled battle with this monster and nothing more. That would be an utter waste of paper for this series. That's the kind of thing that could just be made into a pin up image on Murata's own time to throw in the back of a volume and work just as well.
Metal Bat and Garou was a mostly fine addition but I'm skeptical of this potential Watchdogman encounter.
I don't want to sound too bitter because I really like what Murata has done before this point overall, I'm just concerned as an invested fan.

He's correct though. We already know the outcome of this. Saitama is going to lose the tournament against Chin-kun purposely because Saitama always pulls out at that point. Expect him to pull an 18/Hercule situation and the guy who is fightning lightningkock-san will be all 'huh, wish I could have fought him' and pull out too. Chin-kun will then get ULTRA popular in the world with his style and basically be a running gag in the background for a while.

Yes, one guy hat needed 50 others to beat a demon and another that looks weaker than PriPri will never be a threat. Even if they're stronger than most heroes it doesn't matter since most of the HA strengh comes from the S class.
I knew they'd just skip most of the fights because of that long intro chapter but Jesus it feels like Murata's moving at a snail's pace regardless. Also shit's somewhat predictable.
Max will lose, Bakusan will lose to Saitama and go bonkers or not - it doesn't really matter because Saitama will kick his shit in either way, then some shit will happen with Saitama/Sourface/Suiryu and two guys will proceed to the finals (Sourface being a dark horse is the only intriguing thing about this tournament desu). Garou won the previous tournament and was shown at the start of this one, obviously next time we see Garou will be near/during the final match of the tournament to draw muh parallels.
Anyway hopefully Murata's back to his previous schedule. This year's been painful so far.
