But her fighting skill doesn't really stem from her physical strength. She benefits from being agile and nimble. This is unlike Batou who generally takes a head-on approach to combat.
Besides that, there's no real reason why she would be stronger in a male body. With prosthetics, they can fit plenty of "muscle" into a slimmer female frame. I don't know if Batou is stronger than Motoko, but I do think Batou would kick her ass.

I agree, she doesn't act like much of a woman. But that just goes to show she has the behavior/ghost of a man. She uses a female body but she's not actually female so she doesn't fit the stereotypes.

Admittedly I've only seen SAC so maybe I'm just talking out my ass. In that part of season 2 she said something about when she was a kid, but I don't necessarily remember her saying she was a girl. The watch she wears is feminine, though maybe that was her mother's or a friend's watch. I don't know.

So there's a kind of romance plot in 2nd gig with the major. The primary influence on it was "On seeing the 100% perfect girl one beautiful April morning" by Murakami. It's only three pages so you should check it out, but the point is she and him met each other, when they were young, and have a connection. Also she is in no way a man.
