Hime gets better every episode.
This show is making me realize why I loved Attack on Titan so much. But, when Attack on Titan came out it revolutionized anime by having things like actual character death, detailed gore, and characters that were helpless in the face of an overwhelming threat. Now that Attack on Titan has already done it though, everything else feels like a cheap imitation.

They're fundamentally different. Mumei has a limit, and is probably a super controller for the T-virus, and so will eventually succumb as she loses more and more of her humanity as she uses her powers. It also explains why her hole is so small and tight - her body is only part Kabane. All the ribbon does is staunch blood flow, so she doesn't go full Kabane.
Meanwhile, Ikoma has no limit because his body is fully Kabane, and his brain fully untouched by the virus.

The blood drinking scene from the perspective of the hole in the train ceiling is pretty retarded in context since they could just get blood from their friends or go fight their way through the train instead of on the top (especially since the hole to enter didn't exist at the time they made the decision and there's no reason to believe the passengers would let them inside) but damn if it doesn't look nice.
I love the art style in this show. Seems like the budget is falling off quite a bit though and I agree this episode was pretty shit.

yeah but it's still based on steam. the whole point of ikoma's gun being special is that it is a guaranteed kill (although they haven't addressed how they plan to make it feasible for use by someone who can't take the risk of getting bitten).
if you could put mumei's guns in the hands of a rando and they'd be able to easily kill kabane, they'd just mass produce those guns and ikoma's thing would be irrelevant. but they wouldn't be able to. it's her ability to make several perfect shots in the span of a fraction of a second that makes the real difference in why hers are more effective.

It's why I like mediocre anime. I also recognize that the action scenes are fantastic, and the show is entertaining in alot of different senes. The writing is still retarded, but fun. Just like VVV.
