It kinda made sense for her character to go down that path since even after all her effort she was still separated from Madoka forever and failed to stop her from taking on the burden of becoming a Mahou Shoujo, which took a huge toll on her sanity.

I don't know. It was way cooler when she said shit like "I may not care about this world but this is the world Madoka made so I'll protect it until I die" shit man, it was so bittersweet, truly the best character. It was sad to see her go down the path of true insanity.
