About 3/4 of the manga is worth reading if you want some pretty mindless, brutal action. It has god tier monster designs and a really cool premise, the fights quite memorable and compensate for the mediocre characterization and overall plot.

Gantz meandered about aimlessly, leaving plot holes aplenty, until it FINALLY ended when I think 75% of the people who had at some point followed it dropped it
even I dropped it. I made it all the way to the Zentradi Invasion of Earth and at some point I just began forgetting to go to the scanlator and get the newest chapter. and then it was over, and I guess they beat the Zentradi or something. I don't even know if both the MCs lived to the end and got to live happily banging both the idol waifu and the otaku waifu.
