They completely reworked the second season after it got a time slot change right. So we never saw what was suppose to happen.
Is this some sort of joke? The show was an utter mess in the second half and was laughably bad. Sure the beginning was good but when it turns into a shit show with plot twists every 5 minutes, the story takes a major hit.

Code Geass is a show that gets better with time not worse.
Rewatching really shows how well and consistent all the characters were and all the little details and things you just wouldn't get unless you've already seen it.

Eh, there are bits and pieces out in the Internet if you look for them. The ending would be similar in any case. Also, Lelouch would have defeated Suzaku but lost to Charles in early S2 and been imprisoned, which isn't all that different from what really happened. So the differences would be relative in many cases, rather than absolute.

a.)The recap movie is listed as an OVA for R2. It is logical that one must have watched the main series of any anime that has an OVA before watching that series' OVAs if it has any. OVAs of anime/manga/light novels add to the story, or promotes it. In this case, the R2 recap does both.
b.) We're talking the anime here. Code Geass's source material is the anime since it is completely anime original. All other mediums do not matter, especially since Sunrise only promoted the novels, manga, games, etc. and the staff didn't write any of it themselves. It's only logical that they can't be considered canon unless stated otherwise.

Not really an asspull. We first saw Guilford get a suspicious call from Orange before the meeting with Suzaku and then he shows up only to find Lelouch instead. That was already telling us something was going to happen. Which, as it turned out, was Lelouch taking a precaution in case the meeting went wrong and could then manipulate Guilford to escape.

Except Lelouch was the one driving the whole "conversation" and all he had to assume was that Schneizel would think in a completely opposite way. He already knew enough about the man by then in order to figure out why he'd oppose his intentions. It's a stretch, but this is anime after all. Not reality.
