Because that timeline was a dead end. Everyone's lives were ruined and he had no real future in it.
And his relationship with her is wierd. He's scared of her and hurt by her dislike of him, but still likes her for the moments of kindness and wants to make things work. In that same route he realizes Rem and Ram took pity on him and held his hands as he slept, rather than were suspicious of him.
