ITT anime for smart people.
I'll start.
I like Hyouka too
>>141042151
In all seriousness though Hyouka was pretty good.
Mawaru penguindrum

> smart people
I mean I like them, but what?
>>141042151ice cream
>Kyoanus
>intelligent
lol, if you want something that has intelligence, go watch something by SHAFT
>>141044336
Where?
>>141042151
>>141045106
>>141045250
>anime
>for smart people
I have bad news for you; smart people don't watch anime
>>141042342
This is probably the correct answer, as a truly intelligent person would realize anime isn't meant to be taken seriously.
>>141045363
>I'm too retarded to understand deep shows like Bakemonogatari, so all anime is for stupiod people.
>>141045472
>Bakemonogatari
>deep
please don't do it to yourself
>>141045472
>deep
>Bakemonogatari

>epic meme /b/ro
denial comes first
>>141046043
I really liked Bake, but there isn't any deep message it's trying to convey.
Are you trolling?
Newsflash: art is art. Whether you find any deep meaning in it is totally dependent on the context in which you view it. Whether consuming it makes you a better person or a more refined person is dependent on you, not the work.
>>141046897
This niggah gets it
>>141046897
Being deep is easy. It really just means you have to have any sort of message at all.
What you're talking about is having a resonant message, which I still think you're wrong about. Some works of art resonate with people far more than others, and there is a reason for that.
I couldn't finish Tatami Galaxy so maybe that one was meant for people smarter than me
Any KyoAni anime
>>141042151
One Punch Man.
>>141045670
How was this even allowed on Japanese television?
>Ctrl+F
>"Eva"
>Phrase no found
/a/, I am disappoint
>>141048022
And those same works of art don't resonate with alot of people at all. Meanwhile other works do. There's a reason for that too. But what's your point?
>>141048178
what's wrong? don't like dfc?
stupid cowtits fag
>>141048276
It's pretty clear that some works resonate more with larger amounts of people than others. So to say it's completely personal is clearly false.
>>141042151
How many would actually have watched this if it was animated by TOEI or another incompetent studio?
>>141048178
Because unlike dumb Americans, the Japanese are smart and understand that there's more to this than the average braindead Kyoanus shitter could understand.
>>141048336
That doesn't make it not personal. If it wasn't, then it would resonate with everyone.
>>141048405
There's more to softcore hentai with a loli for the sole purpose of fanservice?
>>141048267
I love Evangelion, but let's not kid ourselves and call it intellectual.
>>141048500
Let's just not use that word at all. It doesn't do anything for conversation on this board.
GiTS
>>141048446
Yes, there's a lot of artistic techniques they used in that scene as well
>>141048409
It's partly personal, but not entirely personal. Or at the very least, there's a personal part of ourselves that we share with many people.
Depth means there's more to it than meets the eyes, but in Bake's case everything is quite literal, the dialogues have the characters explaining how they feel in great detail and most of the time using allegories in case you're dumb enough to not get it, they even show quotes directly from the novel in form of flashing screens just to be VERY clear, nothing is left to interpretation. You can't get any less deep than that
>>141048772
Come on now, it's like saying Sia's music videos aren't pedo bait
>>141042408
Yeah, yeah.
I really wonder if the entire board has been replaced.
>>141048941
> depth means riddles
>>141042151
I liked hyouka but it's not particularly smart, it's quite stupid. Looks great though.
The anime medium is one of the worst ways to experience intellectually engaging artwork. Go read Western classical literature canon and get back to me.
