There are very energetic slice of life shows such as Pani Poni Dash and on the other side of the spectrum slow-moving and pondering ones such as Tamayura. I don't think anybody would call a PPD-style show dull or boring, though you can disagree about them being funny or enjoyable to watch.
So you can't just treat SoL as a whole. We are talking about the low-energy part of the spectrum.
