There were lots of varied otaku posts against NGNL when it was discovered that the author was a japanese from Brazil. Immediately prior to World War 2, many japanese that were either on the wrong political side (anti tojo/war) or against japan going to war were "forced" to leave the country. The most persistent was from some anonymous who created a new twitter account to attack with accusations of tracing. It's basically guaranteed there will be something slightly similar to any new illustration being drawn of a character in a pose. There are so very many illustrations already drawn that it is impossible to create a new mainstream pose that has not ever been done. As it turns out, the so-called evidence posted was in many cases artistically unlike but are also of mainstream generic poses.

At the time No Game No Life was airing, /a/ generally liked it as could be determined from the many threads and posts. The positive comments far outweighed the negative posters of which some were highly persistent samefag hateposters.
In one case, a hateposter was created when he got put down for not understanding the bluffing nature of the paper-rock-scissor game. Even when the fans reposted the matrix and explained about bluffing as a way to psych-out the opponent, that poster was strangely obstinate. In the end, the fans mocked him for not understanding and that poster started posting hate against NGNL over and over. I could tell it was that same poster because I had followed that entire process. Unfortunately, that hateposter turned out to be very persistent month after month. I guess being able to hate something also provided stability and shadenfreude entertainment in his life since he hated those NGNL fans for snubbing him, so he was going to pour poop onto NGNL as much as he could.
It's sort of like being in the parking lot. You're in your parked car continuing to read messages and respond when a THUMP happens. The car next to you has opened their door into your car giving you a door ding. You rush out of your car and tell them to be more careful. You then go into the store to finish your shopping and you return to find someone has done something to your car. People hate being told off. And they take revenge for it in america as the norm. The best measure of a show like NGNL is when it is actively airing and more of the real audience participates in threads. After a show is over, their 4chan threads are in almost all cases dominated by haters and ignored by those who liked the show. Thus, 4chan /a/ got an unfair reputation of being full of anime haters when that is not the actual case.

Translations continued at private site. But delays were caused simply by the lack of raws due to author first getting cancer. Then after he recovered, he spent almost all his time on his two new works instead of making more NGNL. Can't hardly blame him from back then.

It's suspicious enough that all the negative talk also appeared in tandem with the racial hate talk when those fans found out he was a brazilian japanese. There's only so many ways to draw a hand on a hip with the post still looking natural. Sure, one can have unnatural poses, but that would make for an ugly illustration. Out of all the pictures out there, there's almost certainly a bunch that will come close in pose but not content. If you and I sit in the same model car legally driving at 35 MPH along with all the other drivers in the same car at the same speed, chances are very many will have nearly the same exact pose. Add different content such as you texting or me popping vicodins and the pose of much of the rest of the body will still have a great deal of similarity despite fairly different actions.
Anyways, have you seen Steph, Sora, and Miss Chess Player drawn by other artists? Are those chars copied from someone else? That's the key part of a tracing argument that those chars are traced copies.

What definition is that brazilian word "production"? In Hollywood, show ideas can go into production BUT not be green lighted. That certainly happens with lots of hollywood film ideas that have never been turned into movies. Does that mean for anime, going into production could be as simply as trying to identify potential production committee members? There's no convenient Aoi to ask here.
While encouraging, someone at MadHouse has to greenlight it as it is still within the normal time period of 3 years for a right of first refusal contract. Let's hope (okay, that is a mean thought) MadHouse AND MadHouse's network owner has a bad pair of years so they both have financial pressure to greenlight NGNL season two.
