Baki appreciation thread, plus a few things:
Would anybody care at all if we did Baki Gaiden: Kenjin? It's only six chapters, but they're chapters which require a significant amount of work, so I'm looking for some sort of affirmation as to whether or not the community would really appreciate it.
The alternative is that we plug our extra energy/effort into Grappler Baki and Baki Dou. Baki Dou's 11th volume is coming out on the 6th (in 4 days), but we're not done with volume 10 yet because of internal stuff. We're also trying to get out many more Scarface chapters as we've been lacking in releases of that, but it may not happen quickly; it's dependent on reception. Essentially, my question boils down to what you guys would like from us. I made a strawpoll if you want to vote on it, or you can just reply. I don't really care either way.

I'll try to keep the thread afloat with fun content if it needs it, but mostly I'm just hoping for some real discussion about Pickle, Musashi, and the state/future of the manga.
So first and foremost, at the end of 107, Musashi says something about how he does actually want to feel the steel/heft of a real sword; basically implies that he prefers real swords still somehow.
What could that mean for the story? Is he going to use his swords against Motobe until he starts losing, then switches to his hands before he gets killed? Thoughts?
Oh yeah, and apparently this is the official spelling of his name. So everybody can shut up about the whole Che, Jay, Je, Gebaru, etc thing.

Watch Baki the Grappler anime to be caught up on the first series (since the manga for the first series isn't fully scanlated) Then read New Grappler Baki and then Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre, and the series currently ongoing is Baki dou

1.- Baki the Grappler, but it's not yet fully translated, but you can read what's translated hen watch the anime as it covers it pretty well, even if there are some differences.
2.- New Grappler Baki. The second part that is fuly scanlated.
3.- Baki Son of Ogre. The third seris that is ended and fully scanlated too.
4.- Baki Dou. The fourth series that's currently going on.

well ummm...The logical side in me would want it to be somewhat balanced for the sake of a fair game. The fanboy side of me wants Yujiro to curbstomp everyone in the game. Seriously though I'd say do it with the series power levels butnot exactly like the series power levels if you know what I mean. So make Yujiro, Musashi etc top tier characters but dont make them too much better than the likes of Jack, Retsu, Doppo, etc. Give everyone a chance to beat everyone. But I'd say make Yujiro about as powerful as Heihachi in Tekken 4 in comparison to the other characters in the game. perhaps just a tad stronger

There's only so much you can do with balance in fighting games with the canon in mind without really breaking it. Sometimes the tiers can alter as a game's system is explored more deeply even if things appeared fairly straightforward early in the game's life.
I think a better idea would be to have Yujiro not look like he's being hurt much when hit and his sound effects be more subdued more than anything.
His defeat animations/pose can also just be him looking annoyed or frustrated wheres most characters would look thoroughly beaten.

Also about the magic-tier stuff that Kenshiro does. I believe Yujiro would be able to learn it after seeing it. Its just that such concepts don't even exist in the Bakiverse. For example if Yujiro was put in the DB verse where normal humans can be trained to fly and use ki, then I believe Yujiro would instantly master flying and Ki use upon seeing it once.

That actually sounds like a good system but you wouldn't plan on having all chars do the same amount of dmg would you? normal strikes are fine but have the moves/techs of Yujiro and other top tiers do more dmg then other characters (not a significant amount but enough to distinguish who is supposed to be the stronger character). Tekken goes off a similar system and that is pretty successful
