Godzilla Island, or that educational kids anime? Because Godzilla Island is the cheapest fucking excuse for a show I've ever seen.
Toho are known for being really weird about their Godzilla IP. I read a great blog by a guy who did animations for one of the Godzilla fighting games, Toho were constantly changing their minds and making arbitrary restrictions about what the monsters could do and what their moves were called.
And on the other hand, the only changes they wanted for the 1998 Godzilla design were for it to have three rows of spines and four fingers. Such weird details to pick on when the rest of it looked totally different to any other Godzilla.
