That's happening, the manga is going to go a long way before it catches up to the flashforward. Its like FFX, the flashforward is just meant to get you wondering how shit got that far.
Manga starts off with a tease of the future, and then goes back to the past and all the events up to that part.
It goes back to the theme of what Sasuke said in the movie, Ninjas never really change, and that's both good and bad. The problems of the past will eventually repeat in some form. Also we don't really know Naruto is dead, that's just bad guy saying it so far.
But it certainly gets people talking for now, which is the point.

Okay now anon, we all read and/or watched the episodes. No need to lie on this one.
The amount of time he spent on perfecting these moves was annoyingly long to say the least. For someone like me who likes to see the hero in action rather than side characters, waiting for Naruto to finish the Rasenshuriken or Ninetails mode was a walk through hell.
Would personally say that it dropped in quality after the invasion of Pain arc, but even then some parts after that had a lot of good points.
Naruto as a series in general got way more hate than it deserved to be honest.
And let's be real, Madara was the root of the problem. I loved that guy but the shit he pulled off was ridiculous. Only way to beat him was of course to power up the main characters to the same level... but not really because Kaguya.
The series peaked with the start of the Naruto Rasenshuriken training up until the end of the Pain arc. Literally everything the series had built up for happened in between there. It might just be nostalgia speaking but it was such a good time, really and I think back to it with fond memories. Asuma's death, Naruto finally not sucking (learning Rasenshuriken and utterly destroying someone with it), Shikamaru single handedly taking down an Akatsuki member, Sasuke vs Itachi, the truth about Itachi, Jiraiya vs Pain, Jiraiya's death which arguably is one of the best deaths in any media ever, the Sennin mode training, Konoha getting obliterated and ultimately the Naruto vs Pain fight, with Naruto being revered as the hero he deserved to be in the end.
How could you not love that time? 2007 to 2009 was truly a great time to be alive.
