Not only is she a lot more attractive but also she Eva is the essence of Evangelion personified. She starts out cliche but reveals to be a lot more complex the further you go into the show, she's mysterious and as we get to know the truth behind it turns out to be more surreal with every step. Plus, her design is so simple yet genius, she's how anime characters should be designed. The fine balance between cartoonish minimalism and realism. I've been watching Rahxephon recently which people compare to Eva a lot and can't believe just how bland the designs are in that show.
