Haibane was a joy to watch! I don't really see where all of the overwhelming praise for Tex comes from though. I get that there were some subtle winks to different famous artstyles in the design of the surface world, and understood the theme of nihilism crushing human spirit, but I'm still not entirely convinced that it needed to be paced so slowly in terms of the speed at which significant events in the plot take place. The middle dozen or so episodes really dragged on and that makes me wonder if it wouldn't have been better suited to being squeezed into a few less episodes.
