It's baseless in the sense that Hikari has never shown interest in pursuing Takeru romantically, for one thing. And their crests might be similar or go hand in hand together but that doesn't necessarily equate to suggesting that they would be a good match for each another. The problem is that they're too similar so there's hardly any room for either of them to grow out of the relationship. Things would just go back to how they normally were simply because the comfortability that has already been established from years of getting to know each other.
