I hated more 2.1.
It was insipid, a cashgrab. Mari is a character superfluous and as shallow as unnecessary.
The ost was also uninspired and generic. Some of the later transformations are like Goku kaioken 10x god blue saiyan with green dick. They are shitty excuses to sell more toys.
Because it's garbage, the story doesn't make any narrative sense, it feels like they made 100 different scenes with clashing emotions and just threw them all together.
I enjoyed it.

2.2 was average but set up for big things
3.3 is ok.
I like the direction they went, but they skipped what would have been the climax and it felt as if the script was wriotten as they animated. It was directionless and established nothing.
Also the asuka redesign annoys me.
And Mari did nothing.

The notes on how they wrote and rewrote the second and third movie are almost a comedy script. Literally everything is product of lolsorandom decision making or just luck. He is not the genius I believed he was. I still dont know how EoE came from that hack.

It had bad characters, a stupid plot, felt like filler and was overall disappointing after waiting so many years. They had a great cliffhanger in 2.22 to redeem themselves with and all they did in 3.33 was pull plot conveniences like magical lances.
