That really depends on how long is the time loop span. If it's one day such as in the case of the groundhog day, it would suck.

Time loop protagonist is done to death.
I would like to see a series with both protagonist and antagonist are time-travelers, and they try to undone each other's existence/exploit. Basically time-traveling duel (http://io9.gizmodo.com/379263/greatest-time-travel-duels-of-all-timelines). Steins Gate may qualify but SERN is too passive compare to Okabe's action.
