Probably killed off, though. The ending was rushed like shit.
Series was cancelled, the last few chapters were rushed and the whole arc screamed "NEED TO FINISH".

Some Deus Ex Machina crap is needed and Tsukune becomes a Shinso vampire and headmaster of Monster High (while still being a fucking student). With, of course, "and happily ever after."
The series literally ends with "Hey! They're having more fun and wacky adventures after this, but that's a story for another time!".
Basically ending with a cliffhanger just-in-case but it's 99.99% cancelled.

The big tentacle mess controlled by Moka's stepmom?Tsukune and company are joined by the rest of the academy and some of the bad guys they've defeated in protecting the city from becoming a feeding ground for monsters, Tsukune becomes a full shinso vampire but stronger due to being augmented as a result of being a ghoul (i think that's how it went at least). Outer Moka is revealed to be a personality fragment of her mother, while the rest is sealed into Alucard. With this revelation Moka unlocks the full extent of her power, and fights Alucard along with Tsukune. Using the Rosario against him brings out the portion of Moka's mom sealed in him, and the two decide to die together along with Headmaster and Fuhai. The Bus Driver is revealed to be the king of all monsters, and Moka's father begins training Tsukune to be the next Headmaster. Tsukune and harem go into the human world for tea, and the series ends (but not before it teases a bunch of shit that won't be resolved)
