It comes down to opinion. Regardless, one being better than the other doesn't somehow make the lesser one obsolete, and despite all the similarities TTGL and GTR do have their own unique sides to them. Of course TTGL wouldn't exist without GTR, but practically everything creative the last 100 years is derived from something else, and that doesn't make it any worse.

Too different, in my opinion. While I love to meme as much as any other anon, Getter is more focused on its pilots and traditional super robot fluff and turned much more serious in Go. TTGL is just a mix match of random mecha tropes and doesn't really focus on developing characters or interesting plotlines.
