Honestly out of all the "stuck in an mmo" animes it's the best and deals with how many of the players would actually deal as well as expanding on things like NPCs (and even a farming bot)

Excalibur is fucking garbage start to finish. Every other arc has slight redeeming qualities that make it possible to suffer through but there's absolutely nothing in Excalibur worth watching, with the possible exception of like two ten-second scenes.

At least in Log Horizon once you find out the consequences of death it has much more meaning because losing memories of your real life outside of the game is terrifying because it happens to EVERYONE, including the main cast. But that may just be my opinion, the thought of being revived and outright forgetting about my RL friends/family/meaningful moments/ect. as if they never happened seems worse to me. Especially if I was a member of a raid group that kept raiding once everyone was trapped in the game, which would mean tons of deaths while experiencing pushing new content. After enough "deaths" in the game, you might as well be dead in the real world because you have no meaningful memories to tie you to it.

Yeah, up until that point it was low tension because they just thought they were trapped in the game. But finding out when you die and get revived you lose parts of your Real self is terrifying as fuck.
Its a feel good anime. The fighting scenes are odly satisfying even if its repetive.
