Why does that look so weird, it's like you sped up the scene or something.

Not even what I meant to post.

60 fps.
>>
>>140653830
Because I am messing about with interpolation. While it looks fine in in that pic, the 3MB filesize limit causes problems once shit start moving faster.

You can see it here
>>140654082
You'll notice that the section where Shinobu slowly rises out of floor looks fine, but when she starts flipping you'll see it tearing up . If I could post larger files it would look a lot better. I have them saved, but had to scale em down to something I could upload here.
>>
>>140654133
Not 60fps, interpolated bullshit.
>>
>>140654082

that is a seriously shit quality weeboom
>>
>>140654224
Interpolation isn't really the problem, especially not in anime, filesize is why it looks poor. I could post the originals, but it would have to be in segment a couple of seconds in length.
>>
I hate this 60 fps for animation bullshit that this generation has started to like, using it is a complete insult to the animators and production teams.

Really? I made a couple when they were first added here, and it seemed I could get a solid 20-30 seconds @ 720p with pretty good quality. Obviously I wasn't doing any of that 60fps bullshit, but that's still more, higher res frames without looking like complete ass.
>>
>>140654778
You posted a webm that is nearly a still frame. Not that it is bad, it is in fact very well done, but you can hardly compare that to trying to get a 1920x1080 interpolated 60FPS webm of an action scene in under 3MB

>>140654314
Interpolation is always the problem. It's not the same as native 60fps.
>>
>>140654981
Yes, everybody in this thread knows what interpolation is, stop being a baby pointing out the obvious. In anime interpolation works fine, in 90% of scenes it is however completely pointless because there simply isn't enough motion to even notice it, you'd simply be inflating the filesize to get duplicate frames.

Then there are animations like the flipping in >>140654082, no matter how well the algorithm, it is going to look like shit, because the difference between the individual frames is too large, it basically doesn't know what the fuck to do. It works best in slow fluid animation as in >>140653142, the algorithm can make a good approximation of what a frame between 2 frames would "look like" and shoves it between the two. The more information you allow it to store for this, the better it looks and the larger the filesize.

But lets get real here, you're not here to seriously discuss 60fps, you're just here because you are bored, wanted a bunch of (you)'s and so started an argument that is more at home on reddit.
>>
interpolation looks awful, please stop posting this garbage.

Same crappy section from the same crappy show interpoleted to 60fps, and would you look at that, you can barely see the difference even when you know it is there, god I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that 90% of all anime spends 90% of its time animating absolutely nothing except mouths moving and some minor character movement, so the audience is aware that these characters are supposed to be alive. Congratulations, inflated filesize for no visual difference. It is only worth it for smooth animation. The problem is really that anime is a misnomer, barely anything gets animated, it is just backgrounds with characters glued in front of them.
>>

My point being that people who spout this >>140655383 have no idea what they are talking about, and should go back to plebbit where I hear it is completely normal to spout things you read someone else write.

They're both so poorly encoded it's tough to draw any conclusions beyond that you suck at encoding. Do you work for yify when you're not shitposting on 4chin?
>>
>>140656905
Are you strawmanning? The file I used is shit, ya, but one is 60fps and the other 24fps, yet you can't tell the difference because nothing is moving. The encode of the initial file is irrelevant in that example, as long as I used the same file to create both the 24 as the 60fps webm.

Your point was that 60fps would somehow spoil or ruin the animation, yet it didn't, in fact there is no notable difference. If I hadn't titled them you wouldn't even be able to tell without looking at the data.

Are you dense?

M8 /a/ has discussed interpolated 60fps endlessly and the response is usually negative. don't get so butthurt because you want to share it and people aren't interested.
>>
>>140657346
I honestly don't care about 24fps vs 60fps, I care about this place being filled with 14yo's who popped into a thread one day, saw someone get a bunch of replies by saying something negative about 60fps (or for that matter a plethora of other topics) an then copycatting that person every chance they get without having the foggiest of what they are talking about.

I myslelf prefer webm's of longer takes in standard framerate/high resolution, but this autist going on about how interpolation can magically ruin nearly motionless anime is just beyond retarded. It can't, it doesn't, all it does is increase the filesize. It only ruins it when there is a lot of motion, and this guy needs to get that through his thick fat incestuous skull.

What animation? All I see is two static characters moving their mouths.
>>
>>140657166
You can clearly tell the difference when he's moving his head and when she's waving the tickets or whatever they are. Second one looks worse because of the fuzzy frames. Though both look bad because of general encoding.
>>
>>140657941
>clearly tell the difference
You literally need to have them side by side, and be told that one is higher fps. Otherwise you'd have just dismissed both as generic shitty encodes. In other words, stop hyperbowling, /sp/ is that way.
>>
>>140657166

Wasn't even that guy, but if you obviously fucked up both clips, the fact that they both look equally like shit after you fucked them up doesn't actually prove anything except that you suck at encoding. The only distinguishing feature of both clips is how amazingly shitty the encode is.

It's like if you smeared vaseline on a tv and then claimed dvds and blu-rays look the same because you can't tell the difference through a layer of vaseline.

I like this scene. Nothing spectacular or extraordinary, it's just that character's movements look like actual person s.

>>
>>140658346
>the fact that they both look equally like shit after you fucked them up
I wouldn't say I fucked them up, I just couldn't be arsed to wait for an encode @5k+ bitrate to prove a point I find astounding needs proving to begin with. Also your analogy is grossly exaggerated and you know it.
>>
>>140658392

It somehow looks like they're skipping, I don't like it.
>>
>>140658697
I refuse to believe you actually think that, who the fuck moves like that when skipping? Hands in pockets, head and shoulders at pretty much the same height throughout and at such a slow pace.
It is like it has become a sport on 4chan to forcibly find a fault in something for the sake of being contrarian.

>>
>>140658060

Holy shit you're a blind motherfucker. Why the fuck are you so interested in interpolation and encoding? You're shit at it and you can't even discern between the two without apparently being told explicitly that it is different from the other.

>>
>>140660814
?
Not trying anything friendo, been using that since I have found it, shit's cash. Granted, it doesn't work great with all anime, I mean, 60fps sometimes just ruins the feel on an anime. Wouldn't watch shin chan with it for instance, would just be weird.
Recently rewatched chinese electric batman with it though, and holy shit, was like seeing the world clearly for the first time.

Just don't be using VLC or anything under 1080p.
>>
>>140660934
Also on the topic of DTB, I never noticed it before, but it is probably one of the most normie friendly anime out there. Also one of the better openings, with actual English rather than Engrish. Just an observation.
