I skipped the infinite filler arc, but once I found out they'd moved on to Itachi filler I got myself back up to speed.
Though the main reason I'm still keeping up with it is because I've already seen so much of it.
Even when it was on canon material I just couldn't stomach it anymore. They're on the same fucking battlefield, it takes place on the same night. It just hurts to look at and I got so sick of it. You kind of feel for Pierrot, it's not a lot to work with. The war arc was such a disaster. Kishi obviously wanted to do something grand and on a large scale but it just didn't work. It was shit in the manga and it's been downright unwatchable for me since Sasuke and Itachi fought Kabuto.

The origin of Kaguya has not yet been truly explained. It was hinted, through the main Naruto series, The Last and the Boruto movie that she was either an alien or a transdimensional being. There's also the possibility she was simply a race that lived on the moon since prehistoric times. Who knows.

The actual game play was pretty good as always but everything around it was ridiculous. Maybe my expectations clouded my opinion of the game, when I first heard about the 4th game I was under the impression it would cover the entire story and not just the last few bits. There weren't much build up at all in the game, it started at 9/10 tension and action so there weren't a lot of room to go bigger and better after the first chapter.

Can't find it now but there was a lot of talk about how it was the biggest Naruto game to date and an article talking about it covering the entire story + there were a bunch of screenshots of fights like neji vs naruto in the chunin exam. Turned out that it was just an after story mode where you go around collecting memory crystals and do fights you could just do in versus mode. Think it took me like 4 hours to complete the story part which is the shortest of any of the games, even the generations game and that island tournament game.

Well that didn't really suprise me considering a few things like there wasn't that musch left to adapt they literally made a few filler fights to pad things out.
Also in the previous games you had an overworld where you had to go from point to point b to continue the story so that made the game longer they couldn't really do that in this game, because everything for the last 100 took place in one crater or something like that.
If you add adventure mode and story mode together the game is just as long as the previous ones.

That was another reason I thought the game would cover the entire story, there was so little left to adapt. It being called the big game in the series to date with only like 5 or 6 fights to adapt made it seem crazy for it to only cover that. The game is pretty much 5% story 95% padding. And in the trailers there were a bunch of clips of Naruto running around in free roam like previous games but that didn't show up in the story at all.

Falls kinda flat, because that was Orochimaru's MO for the entire fucking story. Everyone he gathers around him, every person he ever allied with, were all just means to an end for him.
