The current MAHVEL domination of Hollywood is built upon an originally very risky project, and that company has maintained their ridiculous winning streak by going with choices that defy many of the standard Hollywood rules. We think of many of their big actors as huge movie stars, but that's only now, after these films had become successful - fucking RDJ was a loser druggie and nobody gave a shit about Chris (Evans, Hemsworth, Pratt, any of em).
Look at Hollywood history. Endeavors that involve risk, when they meet success, are industry-defining ones that rake in the cash. It's not stupid or racist to be stick to tired old methodologies that guarantee a minimum gross (note: these guarantees are failing as of late, anyhow. Look how that BvS film performed. It had mega star power, two powerful IPs and a big name director, but it completely failed), but it is cowardly.
